FursonaPod Ep 19 - Why does the fandom have such bad fan retention?

Boo-ya! We are back like a heart attack, baby! You'll definitely want to put us in your ears this time around. FursonaPod Episode 19 is all about why you new furries are here, and you old furries aren't (well, i guess that makes that second point redundant... *sigh* anyways...).

So why do you figure that this fandom has a revolving door? Does that make it a mini-miracle that FursonaPod is still going strong while other furry podcasts have shut down or gone silent? Does it boil down to the 'based on vapour' nature of the fandom?

About your rant, like you said there are people in the fandom that bring out the weird dark side of furry. So there is a high chance of needing eye-bleach when browsing through FA. What Fur Affinity needs is too have more specific filters to block out the things we see as disgusting like the poke'mon example you made.
Strangely, I have seen a lot of FA'ers complain about G-Rated pics like the Thanksgiving Banner because it had fat-furs on it and yet the people that complained draw there character doing XXX fetish things. Even though I find that hypocrisy funny they gave a similar point to their argument "Hey I think this is wrong on many levels. Do not promote this disgusting fetish". Translation to what the XXX artist really meant is "You made me lose my boner."

1. Bestiality is legal in most state.

2. Looking at images of bestiality or child porn will not somhow make you like it if you don't already.

RE #1: 23 states is not 'Most States' ... unless you still believe the south will rise again.

RE #2: If the material isn't there to begin with, the concept would never be presented either. If you don't believe me, then by your reasoning, going flying for the first time would in no way inspire someone to be a pilot; they either are or they aren't from birth.

I'm Canadian so I could be wrong about what I said I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong.

I have had this discussion before and one side will never convince the other it's right so I think it's best we end it before it starts.
